Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s head coach, spoke about Al Ahly’s upcoming against Tanzania’s Simba SC in the final fixture of the CAF Champions League group stage.

In his pre-match press conference, Mosimane talked about the importance of winning Simba SC’s match for our supporters and the team’s ambitions in the competition.

“Tomorrow's result does not mean anything regarding the qualification, but it means a lot for our supporters.”

“I prefer to play with a full team. Unfortunately, several players are injured and we have to replace them.”

“Coming in second means that we also qualify to the next round. We have to look at it positively. Last season, we were playing to qualify against Al Hilal in the last game and we managed to qualify and win the title.”

“Maaloul is a crucial player and we miss him but that is not an excuse; especially that we managed to win the bronze medal of the FIFA Club World Cup without him.”

Moreover, Mosimane continued that nothing is granted in football. Therefore, he doesn’t have a favorable opponent for the quarter-finals; however, Al Ahly’s history in the competition shows that the team is ready to face anyone.

Mosimane concluded that Al Ahly is a great club with nine African titles to the club’s badge and that the Red Eagles are determined to win the tenth African trophy in the history of the club.
